The Speculative Application Letter
DolceDrago 328 — a skill for the letter written when nobody advertised a job
Variant of Nº012 — The Cover Letter Composer
What it is
Writes the letter that has no posting to answer. With no advert there is no requirement list to align to, so the letter builds the brief itself: find the dated signal, state the problem the company already has, answer it with evidence, propose a scope in that company's words. It writes to the person who owns the budget rather than the careers inbox, keeps the ask small enough to be granted, and plans the one follow-up worth sending. For anyone approaching a company that is not hiring, or not hiring publicly.
What you receive
a speculative application letter for one named company — a dated signal as the hook, the problem stated as a hypothesis in the company's terms, a job-shaped scope, a small ask, plus the named recipient and the single follow-up
